NEW LONDON, Conn. –
To close out their busiest week of the season, Coast Guard fell 0-7 to #38 Vassar College. Today's match marked the fourth competition in six days for the Bears who now sit at 2-7 on the season.
The day started with a clean sweep by Vassar in doubles despite both teams of
Ben Bonetto (Bend, OR) and
Brendan Love (Winchester, VA), as well as
Konnor Eslinger (St. Louis, MO) and
Noah Reice (Wilmington, DE) taking numerous points from their opponents.
In singles, Bonetto again put up a strong fight, taking two in each set. Also putting up a strong performance was
Konnor Eslinger, who suffered a 6-7 tiebreak loss in the first set before ultimately falling.
With the win, Vassar College improves to 11-5 on the season, with today marking their fourth consecutive 7-0 win. Vassar will next travel to RIT on Saturday April 18th at 10:00 AM.
The Bears will host NEWMAC foe #11 Babson College on Wednesday April 15th at 3:30 PM. The Beavers sit at 12-4 (4-0 NEWMAC) after a 6-1 win over Clark University yesterday.
