Box Score NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Kira Wood led the Bears with 21 points and seven assists while Emma Puddington registered the fourth double-double of her career with 15 points and 11 rebounds leading Coast Guard to an 81-74 win over Albertus Magnus in the season finale.
Coast Guard finishes the abbreviated season 4-0.
Kyra Hartman added 13 points and nine rebounds while Jenna Bradberry, made her first career start and scored a career-high 12 in the win for the Bears.
Kyah Nowlin led all scorers with 29 points for Albertus Magnus (0-2).
Coast Guard jumped out to a 10-2 lead in the first three minutes of the game with Bradberry connecting on back-to-back treys during the run. The Bears led 17-8 after one quarter.
The Bears led 34-26 with two minutes left in the first half before the Falcons closed the half on with an 8-2 run cutting the deficit to 36-34 at the break.
Albertus pulled even 36-36 in the opening minute of the third quarter before the Bears used a 10-2 spurt to open up a 46-38 lead with 4:47 left in the quarter.
The Bears lead was trimmed to 51-50 with 2:07 left in the third before Coast Guard ended the quarter with a 9-1 run, the final five points from Hartman, for a 60-51 lead.
The Falcons would get as close as 76-72 with 1:27 left, but a 3-point play by Puddington with 1:07 left was the key play down the stretch.
Coast Guard shot 48.5 percent (33-68) while hitting five of 19 from 3-point range in the win. The Falcons were 23 of 62 (37.1 percent) from the field and hit 11 of 24 from behind the arc.
It was the final game for senior Annabella Farabaugh who finishes her career with 110 3-pointers which ranks her 11th all-time at the Coast Guard Academy.
