Box Score NEWPORT, R.I. – Mikey Spencer had a game-high 23 points leading Salve Regina to a 73-70 come-from-behind win over Coast Guard in a non-conference game.
Salve is now 2-2 on the season while Coast Guard drops to 1-4 with the loss.
Coast Guard led 42-33 at the half. The Seahawks took the lead 68-66 for good on pair of free throws by Spencer with 2:26 left.
Tyler Perez had his first double-double of the season as he finished with season highs of 14 points and 10 rebounds while Madison Maloney recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 boards.
Jack Brunswick added 10 points for Coast Guard while Garrett Drummond led the way with a game-high seven assists to go with his nine points.
The Bears shot 36.5 percent from the floor (27-74) and made 7 of 32 from 3-point range (21.9 percent).
Salve was 23 of 50 from the field (46 percent) while connecting on 6 of 17 from behind the arc (35.3 percent).
The Bears are back in action on Saturday when they host Roger Williams in the home opener at 1:00.
