NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Coast Guard dropped just one set on the afternoon in beating neighbor Connecticut College for the first time in five years by a score of 9-0.
The Bears improve to 2-0 on the season while it as the first dual match for the Camels.
Banks Evans was a 6-1,6-0 winner at #1 singles, Myles Decoste won 6-2, 6-1 at #2 singles, Sean Dreher dropped the first set 7-6 before winning 6-3 and 10-3 in the tiebreak.
Charles Norman won 6-2, 6-1 at #4 singles, Lucas Arora was a 6-4, 6-1 winner at #5 singles and Paul Choi won 6-4, 6-0 at #6 singles for the Bears.
In doubles action, Decoste and Dreher won 8-3 at #1 doubles, Arora and Norman were 8-2 winners at #2 doubles and Evans and Choi won 8-2 at #3 doubles.
The Bears are back in action on Friday Oct. 15th at the Army Invitational.
