FORT MYERS, Fla. – Nolan Johnson's grand slam capped a seven run sixth inning as Coast Guard beat SUNY Canton 14-6 at the Gene Cusic Classic.

SUNY Canton (0-5) scored three unearned runs in the top of the sixth to take a 6-3 lead before the Bears answered with a seven spot in the home half.

In the bottom of the sixth, Blake Carroll had an RBI double, Jon Pressley delivered a deep sacrifice fly to center before Greg Boland's RBI single tied the game 6-6. Johnson's homer to left was the first homer of his collegiate career giving the Bears a 10-6 lead.

Michael Gilmore (1-0) got the win in relief as he worked 2 1/3 innings allowing just one hit while walking one and striking out one.

Ben Webster allowed a hit and fanned a pair in the ninth.

Connor Glynn went 5 2/3 innings as the starter and allowed three earned runs with one walk and six strikeouts while allowing seven hits.

Carroll led the Bears with three hits while also scoring and driving in three runs in the win.

Pressley had two hits and three RBI's while Brett Sullivan and Cody Fidler each had a hit and scored a pair of runs as Coast Guard evened its record at 2-2 on the season.

The Bears trailed 3-1 and scored twice in the fifth on RBI single by Sullivan and an RBI ground out by Alex Cordes to tie the game.

Coast Guard is back in action on Wednesday morning against FDU-Florham at 9:00.
