Sullivan Fires Two-Hit Shutout in Florida Finale

FORT MYERS, Fla. –  Brett Sullivan fired a complete game two-hitter and struck out a career-high 13 leading Coast Guard to a 3-0 win over Alfred State in the Bears final game at the Gene Cusic Classic.

Sullivan (1-1) was dominant as he faced just one batter over the minimum and did not walk a batter. He allowed a lead off single before setting down 22 straight batters before a single in the eighth which was later erased on a double play.

Jon Pressley and Jake Behne had RBI singles in the sixth to give the Bears a 2-0 lead before Jeremy Lhotka added a sacrifice fly in the seventh to close the scoring.

Pressley had two hits in the win for Coast Guard, which returns home with a record of 5-2. The Bears are back in action on Tuesday when they play at Mitchell at 3:30.
