Jack Phillips, playing at #6 singles, would win the first set 6-3 before losing 7-5 and 10-8 in the third set for the Bears.
The closet of the doubles matches was at #1 doubles where Tom Hackett and Adam Bahney lost 8-6.
MIT improves to 6-5 overall and 3-0 in the NEWMAC while the Bears slip to 5-4 overall and 2-2 on conference play.
Coast Guard is back in action on Saturday the 21st when the Bears play at Wheaton in a NEWMAC match at 2:00.
