Bears Beat Clark 7-2

WORCESTER, Mass. – Coast Guard won seven of the nine matches to easily beat Clark 7-2 in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match.

The Bears improve to 5-3 overall and 2-1 in conference play while Clark drops to 2-8 overall and 0-2 in the NEWMAC.

Tom Hackett was a 4-6, 6-0, 6-1 winner at #1 singles, John Hu won 6-4, 6-3 at #2 singles, Mike Melampy rallied for a 5-7, 6-2, 10-6 win at # singles, Kyle Fager posted a 6-3, 6-4 win at #4 singles for the Bears. 

Hackett and Adam Bahney won 8-4 at #1 doubles, Fager and Chris Lansing posted an 8-6 win at #2 doubles while Melampy and Phillips were a 8-3 winner at #3 doubles.

Coast Guard is back in action on Thursday when the Bears host Bryant at 4:00.
