Bears Roll Past Emerson; Fall To Tufts

BOSTON, Mass. -- The Bears won five of six singles matches and swept the doubles action beating Emerson 8-1 in a England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match before losing to Tufts 9-0 in Medford, Mass.

Tom Hackett and Jack Phillips won 8-3 at #1 doubles, Ben Errington and Adam Bahney were 8-1 winners at #2 doubles while Mike Melampy and Arthur Wicke posted an 8-1 win at # doubles for the Bears.

Hackett won 6-1,6-2 at #1 singles, John Hu was a 7-5, 6-0 winner at #2 singles, Bahney won 6-3, 6-4 at #3 singles, Melampy was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at #4 singles and Wicke won 6-0, 6-2 at #5 singles.

Coast Guard is now 6-7 overall and 3-2 in the NEWMAC.

The Bears are back in action on Sunday when they host Conn. College at 11:00.
