Bears Drop Pair at Hall of Fame Tournament

AMHERST, Mass. -- Coast Guard dropped a pair of matches at the Hall of Fame Tournament at Amherst losing to NESCAC opponents Bowdoin and the host Mammoths both by 3-0 scores.

The Bears drop to 15-11 on the season.

BOWDOIN 3, COAST GUARD 0

Bowdoin beat the Bears 25-17, 25-22, 25-14.

Freshman Bridget Boyle led Coast Guard with nine kills to go with eight digs. Senior Michelle McGill had a team-high nine digs and sophomore Makenna Martin led the Bears with 13 assists.

AMHERST 3, COAST GUARD 0

The Bears were swept 25-18, 25-15, 25-22 and again Boyle led the way for the Bears with eight kills and eight digs while senior Emma Saunders and sophomore Alexi Deane each added five kills in the loss.

Coast Guard is back in action on Wednesday night at Endicott at 7:00.
