BABSON PARK, Mass. -- Babson won four of the six singles matches and a pair of doubles matches to beat Coast Guard 6-3 in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match.

Weston Fortna won at #5 singles, 2-6, 6-4, 10-3 while Mike Melampy was a 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 winner at #6 singles for the Bears.

Coast Guard's top doubles team of Fortna and Mark Guentert won 9-8 (7-4) at #1 doubles for the Bears.

John Hu lost a tight match for the Bears at #4 singles 4-6, 6-4, 10-7.

The Bears drop to 8-6 overall and 2-2 in conference play while Babson improves 8-7 overall and remains unbeaten at 3-0 in the NEWMAC.

Coast Guard is back in action on Saturday when the Bears host Emerson in the final home match of the season at 1:00.
