Trinity Edges Bears 5-4

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Trinity won four of six singles matches and beat Coast Guard 5-4 in a non-conference match between the two Connecticut schools.

Mike Melampy and Ben Errington won 8-4 at #2 doubles while Adam Bahney and John Hu recorded a 9-8 (8-6) win at #3 doubles as the Bears led 2-1 heading into singles play.

Melampy was a 6-2, 6-3 winner at #3 singles while Jack Phillips won 2-6, 7-6 (8-6), 10-3 at #5 singles for the Bears.

Coast Guard (1-1) is back in action on Saturday at the Conn. College/Coast Guard Invitational.
