BRISTOL, R.I. – Roger Williams won two of three doubles matches which proved to be the difference in a 5-4 win over Coast Guard in the regular season finale for both teams.

Coast Guard finishes the regular season 5-10 while Hawks close out the regular season with a 13-4 record.

Roger Williams grabbed two of the three doubles for a 2-1 lead. Zack Bussiere and Eric Laboissonniere took down Robert Renfrow and Alex Mead 8-6 at #2 doubles.

Jonah Schwartz  and Eric Bott earned an 8-1 victory over Townsend Hirst and David Leemon. Coast Guard's Weston Fortna and Mark Guentert took the #1 doubles match 8-5 against Ryan Swanson and Taylor Webster.

The Bears earned wins at the top three spots in singles. Renfrow captured at 6-1, 6-1 victory over Bussiere at #1, while Guentert won 6-3, 6-0 against Laboissonniere. Fortnta earned the third win for Coast Guard at #3, beating Swanson 6-2, 6-1.

Yet the Hawks were able to claim spots four through six to come away with the win. Schwartz downed Mead 6-1, 6-2 at #4, while Andrew Amarone won 6-3, 7-5 at #6. It would be Kyle Bull's three-set 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 victory at #5 against Lightner that would clinch the match for RWU.

Coast Guard, the fifth-seed in the NEWMAC tournament will play at fourth-seeded Wheaton tomorrow in the a quarterfinal match at 3:30 p.m. The Lyons beat the Bears 6-3 during the regular season.
