Box Score LAST MEETING: Michael Thorpe had a game-high 19 points and Emerson used a 15-1 run in the second half en route to a 72-50 win over Coast Guard.
Jon Goldberg added 16 points while Kyle Edwards had a double-double with 12 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
Junior David Anderson led the Bears with 12 points and seven rebounds off the bench. Senior Devonte Weems had seven points and a team-high five assists in the loss.
Emerson jumped out to an 11-3 lead and led 22-13 with 8:17 left before the Bears ran off seven straight to pull to within 22-20 following a layup by sophomore Kevin Alvarez with 6:09 left in the first half.
The Lions would then go on a 12-3 run to the end the half for a 34-23 lead at the break.
LAST GAME: Junior Matt Redfield recorded a double-double as MIT defeated Coast Guard, 45-37.
Redfield finished with game-highs of 10 points and 13 rebounds to lead three Engineers in double-figures. Sophomores Justin Pedley and Ryan Frankel each finished the game with 10 points for MIT with Frankel adding a team-high four assists.
Scoring was at a premium throughout as MIT went into halftime with just a 15-14 lead as neither team could score a point in the final 6:10 of the first half.
Coast Guard finally broke the scoring drought at the 17:51 mark of the second half as freshman Jordan Lachowsky buried a three-pointer. Sophomore Ricky Rodriguez would knock down a trifecta of his own on the next possession to give the Bears a 20-15 lead with 16:53 to play.
MIT would end a stretch of 11:09 spanning both halves, without a point by going on a 19-6 spurt to take a commanding 34-26 lead with just 3:14 to play.
SERIES HISTORY: Coast Guard owns a narrow 4-1 edge in the series - which dates to the 1985/86 season - but Emerson beat Coast Guard in January, 72-50.
SCOUTING COAST GUARD: The Bears play their second consecutive home game as they seek retribution for an earlier 72-50 loss at Emerson.

SCOUTING EMERSON: The Lions are one of the toughest teams to figure in New England, boasting wins over top-five opponents WPI and Amherst but sit at just 12-9 overall on the season.
Michael Thorpe leads Emerson in both scoring and assists with 14.9 points and 3.5 assists per game, respectively.
Jon Goldberg is second in scoring at 10.9 points per game and first in rebounds, hauling down an average of 9.5 per.
Tyson Hallowell and Brian Hurley add offensive depth as both score at a 9.2 point per game clip while Eli Kell-Abrams chips in 6.8 on average.
Their top steals man, Goldberg has 29 swipes on the season while Hurley is tops with 34 blocked shots.
Emerson is averaging 68.9 points while allowing 67.1 points per game in 2013/14. They are shooting 42.9 percent from the field and 27.9 percent from 3-point range (97-348).
