Stotts Re-Secures NEWMAC First Team All-Conference Distinction

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. —

United States Coast Guard Academy women's basketball senior Dorothy Stotts (Edina, Minn.) has been named a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) First Team All-Conference honoree for her performance during the 2025-26 season, as revealed by the conference in their major awards release on Wednesday, March 4th.

Stotts closes her NEWMAC career with her second selection to the conference's First Team, earning her first nod as a junior. The Minnesotan was once again among the league's top scorers with her 19.9 points per game and 40.9% field goal percentage, respectively ranking second and fourth in those metrics. A large part of her game is the three-point shot, and the senior shot a NEWMAC third-best 37.7% from beyond the arc while leading USCGA to claim the seventh seed in the conference tournament.

It was a season of perseverance for Stotts, who was forced to miss four games due to injury. Nonetheless, she was one of the nation's biggest offensive threats, ranking 16th in points per game and 35th in three-point percentage. The senior reached double-digits in 19 of her 23 games played and eclipsed 30 points in six of them. In just her second game back from injury on January 4th at Marywood University, she scored 33 points to lead the Bears to a 73-59 win. The highlight of her season came on February 7th against Emerson College, when she posted a career-high and legacy-defining 43 points to lift her team past the Lions, 84-74.

Stotts' time in New London ends with her becoming one of USCGA women's basketball's all-time greats. Her 1,610 points ranks third in program history, and she sits highly on the career leaderboards in multiple marks including points per game (2nd, 16.3), field goals made (2nd, 613), three-pointers made (2nd, 223), assists (3rd, 292), and three-point field goal percentage (3rd, 36.3%). Her 188 field goals made during the 2024-25 season stands as a program record, while her points per game total from this past season sizes up to second all-time.
