MARLBOROUGH, Mass. —
17 recent United States Coast Guard Academy athletics alumni were honored for their excellent academic marks with special honor cords presented by the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference upon their graduation.
The cords are reserved for student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.90 or higher during their collegiate careers, symbolizing the exceptional commitment they have demonstrated in balancing the demands of intercollegiate athletics with outstanding academic achievement. The recognition reflects the NEWMAC's commitment to excellence, celebrating those who compete at the highest levels while embracing the rigorous academic missions of its member institutions.
Recipients were honored with the graduation cord as a symbol of their dedication, perseverance, and success both in the classroom and in competition.
