NEW LONDON, Conn. —
United States Coast Guard Academy junior baseball player
Carson Cho (Haymarket, Va.) and senior women's lacrosse player
Rowan Walsh (Hampstead, Md.) have been named the CoastGuardAthletics.com Cadet-Athletes of the Week, presented by First Command, for their athletics performances during the week ending on Sunday, April 12th.
Cho went 7-for-9 in the baseball team's sweep of New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) foes Emerson College on Saturday. The junior's impact was felt best in the 23-4 opening game, in which he was 4-for-5 with a home run, five runs batted and two walks while accounting for four runs himself. Cho went 3-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored in the 6-5 game two victory.
Walsh totaled three caused turnovers and five ground balls during a 2-0 week for women's lacrosse and even contributed to last Wednesday's 21-4 blowout of Wellesley College by scoring her first career goal. The senior has played in every single game of her four-year career at the Academy.
Cho and baseball open a four-game week today, April 14th, by hosting NEWMAC adversaries Springfield College at 3:30 PM ET. Walsh and women's lacrosse will play their first of two games this week tomorrow night at Clark University, with the opening draw set for 6:00 PM ET.
