Wildsmith wraps indoor high jump career as three-time All-American

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —

United States Coast Guard Academy track & field senior Allie Wildsmith (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) placed 11th in high jump at the 2026 NCAA Division III National Championships on Saturday. The reigning champion was unable to defend her title, but she heads home with Second Team All-American distinction.

Wildsmith passed on the first two heights of 1.59 meters (5' 2.5") and 1.64 meters (5' 4.5") before making her first jumps of the day at 1.67m (5' 5.25"). The senior hit the bar off on her first two attempts before clearing her third. She once again passed on the next height, 1.70 meters (5' 7") before returning to the runway at 1.73m (5' 8"). She once again missed her first two jumps, but unlike earlier, she was unable to clear the third.

Wildsmith closed her indoor jumping career as a three-time All-American, with her Second Team finish this season going next to her 7th-place effort as a sophomore and her championship win as a junior last year. The senior and the rest of the Bears track & field program will now turn their sights towards outdoor season, which is set to begin next Saturday, March 21st, at the Wesleyan Invite.
