United States Coast Guard Academy women's track & field seniors
Claire Semerod (Centennial, Colo.) and
Alaina Stonebraker (Salt Lake City, Utah) both set new Academy records during the two-day Farley Inter-Regional Extravaganza Meet this weekend, hosted by Williams College.
Semerod went first with her Friday run in the 10,000 meters. The distance specialist finished 4th with a time of 36:00.28, breaking the former record set by classmate
Lauren Mellon '26 during the 2024 Silfen Invitational at Connecticut College. Stonebraker took the 400 meters during Saturday's second day and proceeded to take 3rd in 56.46 seconds. She broke her own Academy record in the distance, which was set this past April during the South Florida Invite at the University of South Florida.
Stonebraker would return later on Saturday for another 3rd-place effort in the 200 meters, running 25.43 seconds. Also running in the Friday 10k was
Annabel Molner (Bremen, Germany), whose time of 37:37.91 was a new #3 all-time mark in program history. Earlier in the day, before the 10k,
Meredith Isley (Valparaiso, Ind.) nearly broke into the all-time top ten herself in the 5,000 meters with an 18:14.90 effort.
Also running on Saturday were
Ella Besant (Morehead, Ky.) and
Kate Stebbins (Chapin, N.C.) in the 800 meters. Both cadet-athletes shook up the all-time leaderboards in the event, with Besant's 8th-place effort of 2:16.07 being a new USCGA #3. The mark bumped Stebbins down to 4th on the leaderboard, but she improved her own mark by running 2:16.78 posting for 10th place.
Field events saw
Allie Wildsmith (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) secure first place in high jump, winning on attempts after tying with three other athletes for a best height of 1.68 meters (5' 6.25").
Kaylee Wright (Plainwell, Mich.) competed in long jump, where she had a best leap of 4.82 meters (15' 9.75").
