SPRINGFIELD, Mass. —
The United States Coast Guard Academy women's track & field team finished out at 6th place in the 2026 New England Division III (NED3) Championships, hosted by Springfield College. The Bears saw two meet champiosn crowned while a total of five cadet-athletes and two relays earned All-NED3 status.
One of those meet champions was
Tara Jessen (Signal Mountain, Tenn.), who won the 400m hurdles with a school record time of 1:02.58. This marks the fourth time this season Jessen has reset the school standard in the event.
Alaine Stonebraker (Salt Lake City, Utah), was the other NED3 title-winner in the 400m. She edged out a runner from Colby College to take the crown at 56.71.
Jessen and Stonebraker teamed up with Ella Besant (Morehead, Ky.) and Millie Wymbs (Salisbury, N.C.) to take the runner-up spot in the 4x400m relay by running a season-best time of 3:54.99. The mark was also a new #3 all-time in the USCGA record books. Besant would also place 9th in the 800m at 2:16.35. Kate Stebbins (Chapin, S.C.) earned All-NED3 in that event in 6th place at 2:15.35, also a new USCGA #3, while Amanda Delvan (Boiling Springs, Pa.) finished in 2:17.95 for 11th.
Stebbins and Delevan would earn All-NED3 hardware alongside Jordan Prinner (Citrus Springs, Fla.) and Chloe Middleton (McLean, Va.) in the 4x800m relay, in which the group placed 3rd running 9:37.56 for a USCGA #4 performance.
Rounding it out, Claire Semerod (Centennial, Colo.) and Alexa Allen (Monmouth, Maine) both earned All-NED3 honors with a respective 3rd-place in the 1500m at 4:37.57 and 7th in the 10,000m at 40:28.17. Kaylee Wright (Plainwell, Mich.) was 12th in triple jump with a top mark of 10.70m (35' 1.25").
Next up on the Bears women's track & field schedule is the Farley Interregional Extravaganza, or simply FIRE, at Williams College next weekend.
