NEW LONDON, Conn. —

The United States Coast Guard Academy Athletics Division is proud to recognize sophomore football player Caleb McClure (Canton, Ga.) and sophomore rower Belle Greenshields (Dover, N.H.) as the CoastGuardAthletics.com Cadet-Athletes of the Week, presented by First Command, for the week spanning Monday, October 19th, through Sunday, October 25th.

McClure kicked for 14 points during football's 44-14 victory at Norwich on Saturday. The kicker from Georgia was a perfect 3-for-3 on field goals and 5-for-5 on PAT attempts. His field goal conversions included makes from 40 and 42 yards out, with the latter being just one off his career high. McClure's performance helped Bears football to a fourth straight victory in the Battle for the Mug game over their rival Cadets.

Greenshields earned some hardware during Saturday's Wormtown Chase regatta at Lake Quinsigamond in Massachusetts. Competing in the 1x race as a solo rower, the sophomore completed the course in 22:13.1 to win the event. Her performance was one of multiple medal-winning races for Bears women's rowing at Lake Quinsigamond on Saturday, marking a successful end to their 2026 fall campaign.

McClure and the football team look ahead to this Saturday, October 31st, for their first home game in three weeks against New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) power Springfield College, while Greenshields and the rowing program will transition into winter training in preparation for their 2027 spring season.
