NEW LONDON, Conn. —
Alaina Stonebraker (Sandy, Utah) won two events and set a new facility record at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy women's track & field team competed at their CGA Winter Invite #1 home meet. Stonebraker and the team competed against student-athletes from Connecticut College, Farmingdale State College, Medger Evers College, Westfield State University, the University of New Haven, and the U.S. Military Academy Preparatory School.
Stonebraker started by running a personal record time of 7.38 in the 55 Meters and then followed up by winning the 400 Meters in 59.14, setting a new Gregory Field House record in the process. Stonebraker closed out her day by winning the 200 Meters, running a 26.27.
Coast Guard secured the top six places in the women's 200 Meters, led by Bianca McIntosh (Woodbridge, Va.) placing second with a time of 27.05. Ella Corritore (Erie, Pa.) won the 55 Hurdles with a new #2 performance in Academy history of 8.63.
The 4 x 200 Relay, made up entirely of underclass cadet-athletes, surpassed the previous facility record and while finishing as runners-up to New Haven's team. Freshmen Josalyn Rush (Toms River, N.J.), McIntosh, Starr Hepburn (Stafford, Va.), and sophomore Millie Wymbs (Salisbury, N.C.) ran 1:48.59 and securing the #5 spot in the Academy record book.
Freshmen also led the way in the 3000 Meters with Kevyn Fish (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Meredith Isley (Valparaiso, Ind.) placing first and second, with Fish running a 10:52.78 and Isley posting a 11:05.22. Kate Stebbins (Capin, S.C.) and Amanda Delevan (Boiling Springs, Pa.) were the Bears' top finishers in the 1000 Meters, placing first and second with respective runnings of 3:09.63 and 3:10.51. Ryann Langdale (Mission Viejo, Valif.) was the runner-up finisher in the Mile at 5:37.59.
Allie Wildsmith (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) continued her dominance in the high jump with another win clearing the bar at 1.78 meters (5' 10"). Corritore placed second with a lifetime personal record of 1.63m (5' 4.25"), landing her at third on the CGA all-time list.
Corritore also placed second in the long jump with a top mark of 5.23m (17' 2"), which was a new #5 all-time jump. Kaylee Wright (Plainwell, Mich.) was third in the long jump with a top mark of 5.20m (17' .25"). Hailey Corritore (Erie, Pa.) won the triple jump after leaping 10.77m (35' 4"), and Mollie Brinker (Wilmington, N.C.) was the runner-up in the pole vault while setting a lifetime best jump of 3.45m (11' 3.75").
In the throwing events, Mercedes Bowman (Cincinnati, Ohio) was Coast Guard's top hucker with her fifth place in the Weight Throw at 12.25m (40' 2.25"). In the Shot Put, Tyler Dickson (Severna Park, Md.) was the Bears' top placer with a toss of 9.02m (29' 7.25").
