NEW LONDON, Conn. --
The American Baseball Coaches Association(ABCA) and D3Baseball.com released their annual All-Region teams today, with four Coast Guard athletes garnering All-Region status.Â
For the ABCA, Bears ace
Vito Giordano (Scarsdale, NY) and right fielder
Carson Cho (Haymarket, VA) earned 1st team honors, reliever
Jackson Dorsey (Newark, DE) was 2nd team, and senior catcher
Parker Madden (Ruston, LA) was 3rd team.
For D3Baseball, Dorsey was 1st team All-Region with Cho and Giordano on the 3rd team.
Vito Giordano earned All-Region honors with a stellar sophomore campaign. The righthander went 6-1 with a 2.21 ERA. He led the Bears in IP and Wins and was 2nd in WHIP, ERA, and K's. This is Vito's 2nd time being named All-Region in as many years at the Academy.
Carson Cho; CGA's leadoff hitter, had an outstanding sophomore season en route to his All-Region selection. Cho led the Coast Guard offense in hits(66), doubles(17) triples(3), runs(46), AVG(.398), and OBP(.485).
Out of the pen,
Jackson Dorsey led CGA in saves(4), ERA(1.69), WHIP(1.03), and K's(41). The sophomore held batters to just a .191 BAA.
Bears senior catcher
Parker Madden is All-Region for the second consecutive season to close out a stellar career. He hit .299 with 14 doubles, five home runs, and a .385 OBP. Defensively, Madden threw out 10 runners.
