NEW LONDON, Conn. —
The USTFCCCA today released the Division III Outdoor Track & Field All-Region Teams. After a stellar spring(with one athlete still competing), Coast Guard had seven athletes across their men's and women's teams earn All-Region honors.
Ian Naff (Arlington, VA) of the men's team was named for his performance in the 400m. He won the NEWMAC and New England Championship in the 400.
On the women's side,
Makenna Topp (Anthem, AZ) was also All-Region in the 400m. Her personal best in the event was a 57.05 run at the Trinity Invite on April 19th.
Makenna was also a part of the All-Region 4x400m relay team that set the school record en route to an All-Region berth. Topp's teammates in that 4x400 team are
Ella Besant (Morehead, KY),
Grace Flynn (Severna Park, MD), and
Alaina Stonebraker (Sandy, UT).
In the 400m hurdles,
Tara Jessen (Signal Mountain, TN) made All-Region with her personal best time of 1:03.91. Jessen, a well rounded athlete who also competed in the Heptathlon and played soccer in the fall, was the New England Champion in the 400 hurdles.
Finally,
Allie Wildsmith (Bainbridge Island, WA) was named All-Region in the high jump. She was the NEWMAC Champion in the high jump and is the top seed at the National Championships in Ohio. Allie will compete tomorrow, May 23rd at 11:30 AM for a chance to be National Champion.
