WALTHAM, Mass. - Coast Guard men's tennis opened the week with some non-conference action on the road today, falling to #36 Brandeis University in a 0-7 contest.
Coast Guard moves to 2-12 overall, while Brandeis improves to 7-4. The judges will face #11 Babson College (13-2) on April 15th for their next one.
Brandeis was off to a hot start after winning all three matches at doubles, 6-1, to take the first point of the day.
Ben Bonetto (Bend, Oreg.) lost 6-2 in his first set at #1 singles before dropping the second, 2-6, while
Konnor Eslinger (St. Charles, Mo.) fell in the #4 match by set scores of 2-6.
Next up for Bears men's tennis is a home match with New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) rivals Springfield College (12-2, 4-1 NEWMAC) on April 16th. Coast Guard defeated the Pride in last season's contest, 7-2.
