WORCESTER, Mass. - With one day of competition left at the NEWMAC Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, Coast Guard has moved into second place.
Isabel Robey (Warrenton, Va.) was Coast Guard's top finisher in the 400-yard individual medley, placing sixth and clocking in at 4:36.44. Also in the top ten were
Tailyn Schaufelberger (Austin, Tex.) in ninth at 4:40.59 and
Colleen Read (Annandale, Va.) in tenth at 4:46.09.
In the 100-yard butterfly,
Grace Keogh (Erie, Colo.) was fifth with her time of 57.05, while
Madelyn Paxton (Mechanicsburg, Va.) placed tenth after touching the wall in 58.84. The 200-yard freestyle saw
Liliana Feyk (Carlsbad, Calif.) place tenth after posting a time of 1:59.17.
Team captain
Ellie Hiestand (Telford, Pa.) was the Bear's highest overall placer during Day 3 by nabbing fourth place in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:06.28; Schaufelberger competed in that race, too, placing seventh at 1:07.79. Wrapping up individual competition,
Samantha Halvorson (Chesapeake, Va.) was sixth in the 100-yard backstroke, swimming 58.75 in the event.
In the lone relay of the night, the team of Robey, Schaufelberger, Paxton, and
Kathleen O'Shea (Decatur, Ga.) took fifth in the 200-yard medley with their time of 1:48.36.
Coast Guard currently sits behind meet favorites MIT, who won all six championship races on the day while breaking three records. Full standings below:

The 2025 NEWMAC Swimming & Diving Championships wrap up tomorrow, with trials set to start at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. Events include the 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly, 1,650-yard freestyle, 3-meter diving, and the 400-yard freestyle relay.
