Bears Women's Rugby Athletes to Compete in 2025 NCR All-Star 7's Events

ATLANTA, Ga.  -  Five Coast Guard Academy women's rugby athletes are set to compete at this weekend's National Collegiate Rugby Women's All-Star Sevens events.

The annual NCR Women's All-Star game and Rising Stars game features the top women's collegiate rugby players at all three levels of the sport. The Bears landed three athletes in the All-Star game and two in the Rising Stars game, representing the North Atlantic region in both.

Senior captain Avis Akers and fellow senior Amanda Konieczny, alongside junior Kaitlyn Boggs, make up the All-Star picks. On the Rising Stars team, the Bears are represented by senior RaileyAnn Westervelt and sophomore Savannah McBrayer.

Both teams will play a series of games in a group stage on Saturday before moving to the championship bracket on Sunday. All games will take place at Silverbacks Park in Atlanta, Georgia. Games will also be streamed, with contests on Fields 1 and 2 broadcasted to the NCR's official YouTube channel and stadium games presented on The Rugby Network streaming service.
