Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn. - Women's Lacrosse hosted Emerson on senior day, breaking its previous goals scored in a game record, taking down the Lions, 24-4.
The first quarter started out with a bang as as
Caitlyn Coates found the back of the net just 32 seconds into the game. Less than a minute later,
Addy Bass put the Bears up by two and
Abby McAllister added another at the 11:45 mark.Â
Defensively, Coast Guard didn't allow Emerson on the board until there was eight and a half left in the opening quarter. They would get two more, but the Bears continued to outscore them, ending the first quarter up, 9-3.
CGA shut out its opponent in the second, while put up seven goals. The Bears headed into the break with a commanding 16-3 lead.Â
The opening quarter of the back half saw the Bears getting four more goals and blanking the Lions for the second straight quarter. Heading into the final 15, CGA was leading, 20-3.Â
Emerson was able to get one goal in the fourth, but Coast Guard still scored four to close out the game at 24-4.
McAllister tied her own record of assists per game, while also scoring four goals. Coates and Bass led the day in goals with five a piece. Bass and
Sarah Skurat also have four assists. Skurat also added three goals.Â
Coast Guard is now 9-4 overall and 4-3 in conference. The next game will be on April 17th, hosting Wellesley at 5 PM.
