SPARKS, Md. —
United States Coast Guard Academy women's lacrosse senior
Abby McAllister (Pleasantville, N.Y.) has been named a Third Team All-American by USA Lacrosse, as announced in a release by the organization on Wednesday. McAllister was joined by Honorable Mention selections
Lauren Henry (Monrow, Conn.) and
Ella Campbell (Foxborough, Mass.). Honorees were chosen by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff.
"It's great to have three players recognized on a national level by USA Lacrosse Magazine," says USCGA women's lacrosse head coach
Sue Behme. "We had a magical season, and our team supported each other in so many ways. I know Abby, Lauren, and Ella would credit this to their own hard work, as well as their amazing teammates."
That "magical season" saw the Bears go 14-3 overall and 9-1 in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) games, with the win totals in each being program records. On the way, the team picked up program-first victories over Babson College and Springfield College and secured the 2-seed in the NEWMAC Championship Tournament, the highest seed a USCGA women's lacrosse team has ever clinched. The Bears made made it to the program's first NEWMAC Championship Game appearance, where they fell to MIT.
McAllister was named the first NEWMAC Player of the Year in program history in recognition of being the historic team's engine. Her 7.41 points per game currently leads the nation, and she sits 5th nationally with 126 points, 6th with 4.29 goals per game, and 14th with 3.12 assists per game. Her total points was a new program record, blowing her own former record of 97, set in 2024, out of the water. The All-American is the cherry on top to the USCGA women's lax all-time great's career.
McAllister's fellow senior captain Henry also closes her collegiate career with a first-time All-America nod, while Campbell repeats as an Honorable Mention after receiving the first All-American nod in program history last season. The pair anchored a defense that led the NEWMAC with 12.47 caused turnovers per game. They were also contributors to Coast Guard's seven goals allowed per game, which stacks up to the 19th-lowest mark in the nation.
