Rounding out the athletes heading to the NCAA Championships are two from the Men's Swim Team.
Sean Lyman and
Colin Twiss will be representing CGA in Greensboro, NC, March 20th-23rd.
Lyman was invited to swim in the 400 individual medley (seeded 7th) and the 1650 freestyle (seeded 12th). He will also swim the 500 freestyle. Lyman placed 12th in 2023 in the 1650 and was Honorable Mention All-America. In the NEWMAC Tournament a few weeks ago, Lyman shattered the CGA school record as well as the meet record in the 400 Individual Medley. He broke his own CGA record in that event by four seconds going 3:54.12, which puts him in eight in Division III. Lyman followed up the record-breaking Saturday swim with a win in the 1650 freestyle. His time of 15:40.50 broke the oldest school record, held by Bobby Brown from 2008. Lyman's first 1000 yards of the mile broke the CGA record in that event as well, with his new mark set at 9:25.50. Lyman's 1650 time is twelfth in Division III.
Twiss is seeded 4th in the 200 freestyle, an event he was 12th in in 2023. He will also swim the 500 (seeded 17th) and the 100 freestyles. At NEWMACs, Twiss won his third consecutive title in the 500 freestyles in 4:30.06 in an NCAA "B" time. He was followed by Lyman in the 500 with a 4:30.91 and the first 1-2 finish in that event in CGA history. Twiss built on his 500 win with a repeat win in the 200 free. His morning swim of 1:37.02 broke his own CGA record and is good for fourth in Division III. Twiss swam to runner up and second team All NEWMAC in a new event for him, the 100 freestyle, finishing in an NCAA "B" time of 44.54, .03 off the CGA record.
