Caitlyn Coates scored her 100th career goal, despite dropping the game to the Engineers with a final of 8-5.
The first quarter, CGA held MIT to only one goal. With just 15 seconds to go in the opening quarter,
Caitlyn Coates tied the game at one.Â
Quarter two went against the Bears as the Engineers outscored them, 3-0. Heading into the break, the Bears were down, 4-1.Â
Coming out of the half, MIT extended its lead to four, less than 10 seconds into the third. At the 13:36 mark,
Abby McAllister got it back for the Bears. It didn't last long as the Engineers brought it back to four. With less than 10 to minutes to go in the third, Coates got her second of the game and brought the score to 6-3.Â
With just over six to go in the quarter, Coates added another, making it her 100th career goal, the first in program history.
MIT got one back just before the end, making it 7-4 heading into the final 15.
The last quarter opened up with a goal by MIT to extend its lead. With less than five minutes to go, Coates scored her fourth to make it 8-5, which would be the final score.Â
Coates led both teams in scoring with four. McAllister recorded two assists and one goal.
Maici Mintchwarner grabbed eight saves in the net for the Bears.
Coast Guard will next go on the road to face Salve Regina on March 27th at 7 PM
