Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn. - Men's Lacrosse hosted Wheaton in a conference battle, unable to keep up with the Lyons' second-half surge, falling with a final score of 10-4.
Coast Guard got the scoring going off a goal by
Jake Chambers, assisted by
Matt Lubin with just over seven minutes to go in the opening 15. Wheaton tied it up less than a minute later. With a little under two and a half to go, the Bears found themselves down, 2-1.
The first two goals of the second quarter were scored by the Lyons, but the Bears got one back by
Matt Lubin, making it 4-2. Wheaton brought it back to a three point lead, but Coast Guard got it back with less than 30 seconds to go in the half, making it 5-3 going into the break.
Less than a minute into the back half of the game, the Lyons added two more to go up 7-3. Coast Guard couldn't get anything going in the third as Wheaton continued to add on. Heading into the final quarter, CGA was trailing, 9-3.
Each team scored once in the fourth quarter, CGA's goal coming from
Ryan Hunter, to end the game at 10-4.
Matt Reheuser recorded seven saves in the net for the Bears.
Coast Guard will next play at Merchant Marine on March 27th at 7 PM.
