Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn. - Women's Basketball hosted Salve Regina in their final regular season home game, taking down the Seahawks with a final score of 93-72.
The Bears had a slow start, not getting on the board until two and a half minutes into the first with a jumper by
Kira Wood. The first half of the game were a back and fourth battle with six lead changes that ended with the Bears on top. Once CGA took the lead in the second quarter, they never gave it up for the rest of the game.
Heading into halftime, the Bears were holding a seven point lead with a score of 38-31.
The second half is where Coast Guard found its rhythm. To open up the back 20, the Bears scored the first four points and from there kept knocking down shots. In the third quarter, the largest lead was 21.
Into the fourth, CGA continued to add to its lead, going up by 24 points, its largest of the night.Â
Coast Guard ended with 12 team steals and 43 rebounds in the 93-72 victory.Â
Wood led the Bears with 22 points, followed by
Glory Blethen with 20 and
Dorothy Stotts with 13.
Kelly Hagerty led all players with 12 rebounds. Wood and
Taylor Lynch each grabbed three steals with Stotts leading in assists with nine.Â
Coast Guard will go on the road in its final regular season game, taking on Mount Holyoke on Februrary 17th at 1 PM.
