Six Bears Honored on NEWMAC Fall Sportsmanship Teams

WESTWOOD, Mass.  -  The NEWMAC has announced its Sportsmanship Team Honorees for the 2024 Fall season.

The conference's annual sportsmanship honor is intended to recognize a student-athlete from each team in every sport that best demonstrates the ideals of the NEWMAC and its Code of Conduct, regardless of their overall performance or statistics for the season.

A total of 72 athletes across the sports of men's and women's cross country, field hockey, football, men's and women's soccer, and volleyball were named for this season's team. Coast Guard's representatives were Grant Kellenberger (Mohnton, Pa.) for men's cross country; Margarita Hillon (Seattle, Wash.) for women's cross country; Joey Armentrout (Oceanside, Calif.) for football; Micah Messner (Mableton, Ga.) for men's soccer; Kelsey Ward (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) for women's soccer; and Sophia Rosenberg (Lebanon, Pa.) for women's volleyball.

Each honoree, selected by their coaching staff, has distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior that go beyond the sport's playing rules and etiquette.
