NEW LONDON, Conn. - Women's Soccer hosted Conn College in its first home game of the season, struggling against the Camels, falling 3-0.
After a rain and lightening delay that led the match to start an hour and a half later than scheduled, the teams were ready to battle.
Coast Guard got off to a slow start as Conn scored three in the first half. CGA struggled to find its rhythm in the first 45 minutes. The second half was better for the Bears as they had multiple opportunities to score. Despite not finding the back of the net, CGA still had eight shots in the second half, 11 overall. Seven different Bears had shots on goal.
The defense was also able to keep the Camels off the board in the second 45 minutes of play.
Emily Scharnitzky recorded five saves for CGA.
Coast Guard will start conference play on September 16th, at Clark, at 1 PM.
