WORCESTER, Mass. - Women's Soccer began conference play last night, falling in a a close battle with Clark, 1-0.
Both teams got shots off in the first half, CGA outshooting its opponent, six to four. Despite that, they were unable to find the back of the net. Going into halftime, Coast Guard and Clark were locked at zero a piece.Â
The second half was much of the same, each team getting nine shots. When it looked like it may go into extra minutes, the Cougars got the lone goal of the game.Â
The matchup was nearly even in every category. The Bears had 13 shots to the Cougars' 15. Each team recorded four saves. In the net and credited with the saves for the Bears was
Emily Scharnitzky.
Chase Merrick had four of the shots for CGA, followed by
Karagan Bulger with three.Â
Coast Guard will be home on September 18th, taking on Eastern Connecticut at 6 PM.
