WELLESLEY, Mass. - The New England Women's and Men's Conference Men's Lacrosse Semifinals took place today with the #5 seed Coast Guard just falling the #1 seed Babson Beavers, with a final score of 15-14.

CGA had a dominating first half. The Bears outscored the Beavers 3-1 in the first quarter. Taylor Gustafson put up the first goal of the game with just over eight minutes to go in the first 15. With under four minutes remaining, Babson tied it up. The tie didn't last long as two minutes later, Caleb Holdridge gave the Bears the lead again. Less than 40 seconds later, Ian Feely put CGA up by two. 

Coast Guard wasted no time in the second quarter as Wyatt Rumpf found the back of the net just eight seconds in. The next seven and a half minutes the teams traded goals back and forth before Coast Guard scored three in a row. 

Heading into halftime, the Bears were leading the Beavers, 10-5.

Just like the first two quarters, the Bears put up the first goal of the third, credited to Ryan Hunter, tying the Bears' largest lead of the game.

However, it was the first quarter of the game that the Bears didn't outscore the Beavers. CGA was only able to get one more in as BC had five.

Heading into the final 15 of the game, the Bears were only leading two, for a score of 12-10.

The fourth quarter was a whole new battle. Babson got the first goal to cut Coast Guard's lead to just one and tied it at 12 soon after.

The Bears were unable to regain the momentum as the Beavers took the lead. Despite the hard-fought battle, CGA ultimately fell and ended its season.

Gustafson led both teams in scoring with six goals, while Holdridge and Gaige Kruger led both teams in assists with three apiece. Dan Lucas recorded 12 saves for the Bears.
