Box Score BOSTON, Mass. -- Today, Coast Guard Men's Lacrosse played their final regular season game of New England Women and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play, beating Emerson, 12-8.
Bears got on the board in the first minute of the game from a Patrick Smith unassisted goal. Emerson answered back tying it up 1-1 with about 12 minutes in the first quarter left. Caleb Holdridge would score to give the Bears a 2-1 lead to start the second period.
Bears outscored the Lions three to one in the second and led 5-2 to start the second half.
Emerson wouldn't go down without a fight though, and tied it up 7-7 to start the final quarter.
In the fourth, Bears scored four unanswered goals and only allowed Emerson to score once in the fourth.
Bears would win 12-8 and secure a spot in the NEWMAC playoffs.
Caleb Holdridge led his team with had three goals and three assists. Ryan Hunter also had three goals for CGA. Patrick Smith had two goals and two assists and Taylor Gustafson had two points as well.
Dan Lucas had a season high of 21 saves on the day.
CGA Men's Lacrosse will start post-season play this Tuesday, May 2nd at 7PM at Clark.
