SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Last night, CGA Women's Lacrosse played in their final regular season game of New Endland Women and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play, falling in overtime, 15-14.

Bears found themselves down early in the game and could only get one score in the first quarter which came from a Caitlyn Coates free position shot. Both teams scored four apeiece in the second quarter, but Bears would trail 8-5 starting the second half of the game. 

In the third, Bears scored five goals in a row and would only allow the Pride to score once. CGA led by one to start the final quarter of regulation play. 

The fourth quarter was a back-and-forth battle. At seven minutes left in the final quarter, the Bears found themselves down by three. However, the Bears clawed their way back and scored three in a row; two from Abby McAllister and one goal from Gianna Cascio. At the end of the four quarters the score was all tied up 14-14. 

Despite the Bears winning the overtime period draw control, the Pride would cause a turnover and would clench the 15-14 win. 

Sarah Skurat led the Bears with four goals, followed by Coates and McAllsiter who had three apeice. Addy Bass had two on the day. Cascio had one goal with four assists and Brenda Andersen had one goal and one assist. 

Mia Becker secured 11 of CGA's 19 draw controls. The Bears were also four for seven in free position shots and scooped up 21 ground balls to Springfield's 15. 

CGA will host their first round of playoffs this Saturday, April 29th at 1 PM.
