Box Score BOSTON, Mass. -- Women's Lacrosse hit the road today for their first New England Women and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game of the season, dropping the Emerson Lions, 17-4.
In the first five minutes of the game, Bears attacked first from a Lauren Henry goal. CGA would dominate the first quarter, not allowing the Lions on the board at all in the first 15.
The second quarter was much of the same and the Lions didn't get on the scoreboard until 3:45 left in the first half, making the score 10-1, Bears up.
In the third quarter, both teams played solid defense. There were only three goals total the entire 15; two from the Bears and one from the Lions.
The Bears scored three more in the final quarter for a total score of 17-4.
Addy Bass, Brenda Anderson, Gianna Cascio, and Abby McAllister all had two goals on the day. Riley Shipman, Shannon Schmidt, Isabella Judge, Fiona McCartin, Lauren Henry, Laine Weber, Sarah Skurat, Caitlyn Coates, and Dylan Park all had one goal apiece. Safe to say it was definitely a team effort for the Bears.
The Bears won 18 of 24 draw controls and secured 20 ground balls. Goalie Devon McCue had six saves in the first half, and Maici Mintchwarner had five in the second half.
Women's Lacrosse will be back on their home turf Wednesday as they face West Conn. at 5 PM.
