Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Women's Lacrosse hosted Johnson & Wales (RI ) in their first home game of the month, getting the 18-7 win.
The first quarter started with a goal by the Wildcats a minute and a half into the game, but would be the only lead they would have. Their goal was quickly answered by a Bears goal 30 seconds later. Caitlyn Coates is credited with getting the Bears on the board.
Addy Bass scored just two minuted later to give Coast Guard the lead.
CGA put up four more in the first, to take a 6-2 lead into the second quarter.
Brenda Anderson started the scoring in the second, followed by two more Bears goals. The Wildcats didn't put one up until just seven minutes left in the half.
Coast Guard went into halftime with an 11-3 lead.
Each team scored three in the third quarter, Bass getting two of the Bears' goals and Gianna Cascio scoring one.
At the start of the final 15, CGA led 14-6.
The rest of the game continued to be dominated by the Bears. They put up four goals, scored by Coates, Abby McAllister, Sarah Skurat and Laine Weber.
Bass, Skurat and Coates led the Bears in scoring with three a piece. Skurat was also three-for-three on shots taken and scored.
The Bears will start conference play on March 15th, taking on Emerson on the road at 1 PM.
