NEW LONDON, Conn. - Men's Basketball hosted non-conference rival Conn College, falling in a close battle with a final score of 68-58.
The Bears struggled to get things going in the first half, as they shot six times and remained scoreless until five and a half minutes into the game.
Jordan Frazer put up the first points for CGA, knocking down a three, followed by a three from
Mitch Shettles that put that gave them their first lead of the game at 6-4.
For the next few minutes, the teams battled back-and-forth for the lead before Conn took control and Coast Guard had to play catch-up. Heading into halftime, CGA was down, 31-19.
To start off the second 20 minutes, Shettles drained the first bucket from beyond the arc, followed by a three by
Ben Yagey, cutting Conn's lead down to six.Â
At about the halfway mark,
Trevor Parks made a three that brought the Bears within one. They were never able to retake the lead, however, and ultimately dropped the game after a strong performance in the second half.
Frazer led the Bears in scoring with 13, followed by Shettles with 11 and Yagey with nine.
Cameron Brown led all players in rebounds with 12. He also had two steals and five assists.
Coast Guard will head back out on the road to face Merchant Marine on December 2nd at 2 PM.
