Women's Soccer Drops Road Game Against Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Coast Guard Women's Soccer Team hit the road last night for a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) matchup against Springfield College, but would fall 2-0.

The Bears were able to keep the Pride out of the net for almost the entire first half. It wasn't until 37:35 into the game that Natalie Moturra drilled the ball from the far left side and found teammate Sadie Crozier for a 1-0 lead over the Bears.

Coast Guard had four shots in the first half but were unable to get any past Springfield's keeper Taryn Ryan.

In the second half, the score remained 1-0 up until the last two minutes of the game. The Pride were able to score one more to put the nail in the coffin and secure a final score of 2-0 over the Bears.

Springfield upped its record to 6-2-2 overall and to 4-0-0 in NEWMAC play, while Coast Guard fell to 2-9-0 overall and to 1-3 in the league standings.

Coast Guard will look to redeem themselves this Saturday, October 7th as they face Welleseley at home. Kickoff is set to happen at 1 PM.
