Box Score SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. - This evening, Coast Guard Volleyball matched up against New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opponent Mt. Holyoke, beating them three sets to two.

In the first set, the Lyons came out swinging and took the first three points of the set. Bears would try to fight back in set one, but would fall 25-20.

In set two, Bears would take an early lead. Mt. Holyoke would not be able to touch Coast Guard's lead and would end up falling by eight, for a score of 25-17.

Set three would be a back and forth battle in the beginning, but Bears would start to take the lead. However, Mt. Holyoke would battle back and tie it up 20-20. The Lyons would end up winning the third set 25-22.

In the fourth set, Bears took an early 5-1 lead. They would ultimately control set four and take the 25-20 win. 

Since each team had won two sets, the match would all come down to the fifth set. 

Bears took the 6-1 lead in the fifth set which led to a Mt. Holyoke timeout. CGA would dominate the entire fifth set and take it 15-9.

Allie Wildsmitth led her team in kills with 21, followed by Sophia Galdamez who finished with 17. Maeve Duffin had 43 assists and Kalea France led in digs with 36. Laila Baameur served four aces on the night.

Coast Guard returns to their home court in a non-conference match up against Mitchell College this Thursday, October 26th at 6 PM.
