Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn. - This afternoon, Coast Guard Women's Soccer faced off in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) contest, beating the Smith Pioneers 1-0.

In the first 45, Coast Guard out shot Smith six to three. Then at 30:40 into the game, Mia Forti was assisted by Riley Vicinanzo to give the Bears the lead. Bears would head into the second half with a 1-0 lead.

In the second half, the Bears out shot the Pioneers once again nine to four. Both teams played tight defense and did not allow their opponent to reach the back of the net for the remainder of the game. 

Ultimately the Bears would come out on top and win 1-0. Emily Scharnitzky had four saves on the day. 

CGA Women's Soccer will be back in action this Saturday, October 21, as they hit the road to play Mount Holyoke at 2 PM.
