Box Score BRISTOL, R.I.-- Caleb Holdridge recorded eight points to lead Coast Guard to an 11-7 non-conference win over Roger Williams on the road on Wednesday night. The Bears improved to 8-3 on the season, with their third straight win, while Roger Williams dropped to 5-9 overall.
Holdridge had a game-high six goals and two assists to lead Coast Guard with eight points. Gaige Kruger had two goals and two assists, while Nate Gee tallied two goals and one assist, and Ian Feely rounded out the scoring for Coast Guard with one goal.
Holdridge and Feely scored the only two goals of the opening period as the Bears shut out Roger Williams for a 2-0 lead.
Holdridge and Gee extended the Bears' run as they scored back-to-back goals to give them a 4-0 advantage. Roger Williams got on the board at 8:53 in the second period, but Coast Guard would score three more times to take a 7-1 lead at the half.
Coast Guard shut out the Hawks again, as Holdridge, Kruger, and Gee all put away a goal in the third, taking a 10-1 lead.
Roger Williams came alive in the fourth as they outshot the Bears 6-1, but Coast Guard took the 11-7 final.
Dan Lucas and Matt Reheuser split the time in the cage, and each recorded seven saves in the win for the Bears. Max Kimmel made nine saves for the Hawks in the loss.
Roger Williams outshot Coast Guard 47-38, but the Bears won 12-19 face-offs, including 9-11 from Logan Tobias.
The Bears jump back into New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action on Saturday, April 16 at 1 PM at MIT.
