HARTFORD, Conn.-- Connor McCulloch scored six goals to lead Trinity to a 17-11 victory over Coast Guard men's lacrosse on Wednesday night. The Bears dropped to 5-4 on the season, while the Bantams improved to 4-3 overall.

McColloch had a game-high six goals to lead Trinity, and Ryan Werner added three tallies. William Puccio added a pair of goals, and Matt Pecora, Jack Cahill, Jackson Wood, Luke Valentino, Andrew Fearey, and Cullen Wolf all scored for the Bantams.

Junior Caleb Holdridge led Coast Guard with four goals. Nate Gee and Ian Feely both added a pair of goals for the Bears, and Gaige Kruger, Ryan Hunter, and Matt Flynn each added a goal for Coast Guard.

Trinity jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead two minutes into the game. Gee put the Bears on the board at 9:31 in the first. Trinity scored back-to-back goals to take a 4-1 lead, but Feely scored two goals to close out the first quarter to cut the Bears' deficit to 4-3.

Holdridge opened the second quarter with his first goal of the game at 10:24, to tie it up, 4-4. Trinity took the lead back at 11:42, but Holdridge and Gee scored back-to-back to take a 6-5 lead. The Bantams answered with two more, taking a 7-6 lead at the half.

Ryan Hunter tied the game back up at 7-7 to open the third quarter, but Trinity went on a four-goal run to take an 11-7 advantage. Holdridge scored one in the third period at 2:23, making it 11-8.

Trinity outscored the Bears 6-3 in the final period to put the game away with the 17-11 final.

Sophomore goalkeeper Dan Lucas made 11 saves for the Bears. Cooper Yaccino made six saves in the win for Trinity.

Coast Guard jumps back into New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play on Saturday at home as they host Wheaton at 3 PM.
