NEW LONDON, Conn.-- Junior Caleb Holdridge scored four goals to go with four assists to lead Coast Guard men's lacrosse to an 18-7 victory over Maritime College on Wednesday evening. The Bears improved to 3-2 on the season while the Privateers dropped to 2-4 overall.

Senior Nate Gee had three goals and two assists for the Bears, and Ian Feely, Ryan Hunter, and Matt Flynn all put away a pair of goals in the win. Gaige Kruger, Dylan Rivie, Ryan Flynn, Dan Zarillo, and Taylor Gustafson each recorded a goal for Coast Guard.

Kyle Orton and John Killcommons each scored twice to lead Maritime. Parker Reilly, Jason Corvi, and Sean Foley all added a goal apiece for the Privateers.

Maritime scored the opening goal of the game, in the first minute but the Bears answered with eight goals throughout the period to take an 8-1 lead. The Privateers scored once more in the first period. The Bears took a 14-5 lead at the half.

Coast Guard scored the only two goals of the third period, and both teams each scored twice in the final period for the 18-7 final.

Dan Lucas made 12 saves and improved to 3-2 on the season, and Matt Reheuser made two saves in his seven minutes of play. Jack Daresta made two saves in his 30 minutes, and Michael Monahan made eight saves in his 30 minutes of play.

The Bears open New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action on Saturday, March 19 at 1 PM on the road at Babson.
