Box Score MEDFORD, Mass. -- Coast Guard had its season-long six match win streak come to an end with a 3-1 loss at Tufts in a non-conference game.
The Jumbos, who won by scores of 25-22, 25-10, 25-20, 25-23, improve to 10-4 on the season while Coast Guard drops to 12-5.
Amanda Dake led the Bears with 14 kills while adding nine digs. Noelle Tursky led the team with 22 assists while adding 14 digs and nine kills. Kaela France also finished with 14 digs for Coast Guard.
The Jumbos took a 10-4 lead in the opening set before the Bears trimmed the deficit to 16-14. Three straight points by Tufts would later give them a 21-16 lead before winning 25-22.
Tufts would control the second set from start to finish winning 25-10, but the Bears would not go quietly.
Coast Guard scored five straight in third to take a 11-7 lead. Tufts would pull even 17-17 before the Bears ran off four straight for a 21-17 lead and won 25-20 to force a fourth set.
The fourth set was tied 14-14 and again 19-19 before the Jumbos closed out the match with a 25-23 win.
The Bears are back in action on Tuesday night when they host Wellesley in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match at 7:00.
