NEW LONDON, Conn.-- Coast Guard women's lacrosse fell 13-3 on the road in non-conference action at Connecticut College on Tuesday evening. The Bears drop to 1-2 on the season, while the Camels improve to 1-1.

Coast Guard had three different goal scorers in the setback. Sophomore Luisa Santos, freshman Maddie Rizzuto, and senior Carter Sanderson all tallied a goal for the Bears. Senior Leah Llewellyn had a team-high four caused turnovers and grabbed five ground balls.

The Camels were led by Jamie Navoni with eight goals, a game-high seven ground balls, another game-high with seven caused turnovers, and added three draw controls. Hannah Lombard also added four goals in the Camels victory.

Sanderson scored the first of the game at 26:43. The Camels answered as Navoni put away the next three goals and Lombard added one as they took a 4-1 lead with just over 13 minutes in the half left to play. Rizzuto and Santos scored the final two goals of the half as the Bears trailed 4-3 heading into halftime.

The Camels scored their final nine goals of the game to take the 13-3 final.

Sophomore goalie Mary Budri made 11 saves in her first half of play and classmate Rebecca Dolan had four saves in the second half for the Bears. Nina Fazio made eight saves for the Camels in the victory.

Coast Guard held the advantage in draw controls, 9-8 but the Camels outshot the Bears, 37-14.

Coast Guard is back in action on Saturday, March 9 at 5:00 PM against Randolph-Macon in the second game of a Coast Guard men's and women's lacrosse doubleheader at the US Lacrosse Complex in Sparks, Maryland.
